Students who are selected to participate in SIMC2.0 are ambassadors of their institutions and should conduct themselves with decorum. As the Endeavour track of SIMC2.0 is a residential event that involves more than 120 student participants from different countries and regions, it is important that all participants adhere to the rules and guidelines of the event and accommodation venues, in order to ensure a pleasant experience and safe environment for everyone.
Safety and Security
- Participants are personally responsible for their safety and well-being and their belongings. They should avoid actions that pose unnecessary risks to others and themselves.
- Participants must commit to attending and participating fully in the stipulated programme throughout the event. They should not leave before the completion of the full event, save for exceptional circumstances.
- Participants should inform their educator and the organisers if they are feeling unwell. Participants should bring along and declare any necessary medication for any pre-existing medical conditions. The organisers will not be dispensing any medication.
- Participants should not approach the Student Programme Liaisons (SPL) to engage in activities beyond the official programme e.g. sightseeing or ordering of food from external sources.
Decorum and Discipline
- Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drug consumption, use of weapons and gambling are strictly prohibited in the school and accommodation premises. All e-cigarettes (and other imitation tobacco products) and their related accessories are prohibited in Singapore and vaping is illegal in Singapore.
- Participants should show all the organisers, educators, student volunteers, and one another respect. Any verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated. This includes inconsiderate or insensitive language or use of social media.
- Participants should adhere to the attire/ dress code stated in the Programme section of the information booklet. They should be decently and appropriately attired for all activities.
- Observing punctuality is a good practice as well as a form of courtesy and respect to others. Participants should be punctual for all activities.
Accommodation in UTown
- Participants should read the accommodation guide given for the rules, instructions and emergency guidelines stated. Rules regarding the use of residential facilities, and appropriate conduct within the grounds of UTown must be adhered to and will be enforced by the relevant university authorities.
Should a serious offence occur, the organisers reserve the right to disqualify the participating school from the event.
