Interested in geopolitics from young, Kai has been fascinated by the inner workings and spontaneity of news agencies. This year at SIMC^2.0, Kai is in charge of the social media pages of the event, covering everything from crazy events to fun occurrences. Outside of school, Kai enjoys dabbling in urban planning and photography.

When she is not thinking about her next meal, Wee Wen is probably poring over a recipe or convincing herself that cooking/baking counts as cardio. She claims she likes to exercise, but the truth is that she hits the gym to make room for more food and more me-time. She lives by a quote she first read at the age of 10—partly as an adage, partly as a lifelong warning not to let ugly thoughts manifest. (And if ugly thoughts creep up, she knows to turn to that bottle of serum.)

Caroline started reading Ladybird books before moving on to adventures with Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy. She happily admits that her most-admired fictional heroine is Lieutenant Ellen Ripley and her longest standing fictional crush is Aragorn.Her guilty pressure is true crime podcasts and documentaries.

Daniel grew up with fantasy books and manga. He is a big fan of absurdist theatre and musicals too. His favourite author is Italo Calvino, although Jim Butcher is a close second. His preferred genre for mindless entertainment is LitRPG.

Dustin likes stuff from the 80s. He considers Back to the Future, The Princess Bride and Top Gun mandatory viewing if you want to hold anything close to a meaningful conversation with him. Aside from science fiction (Asimov) and fantasy (Dragonlance), he also did his honours thesis on Stephen King – which he does not consider ‘horror’.

Genette is a proud cat meowmy of two brown tabbies — and just as curious as they are. Unlike cats, she was not afraid to venture into scuba diving just before the pandemic. Unsurprisingly, some of the most purrfect works that touched her are Japanese novels about cats.Hiro Arikawa’s “The Travelling Cat Chronicles” left her teary-eyed, while Takuya Asakura’s “The Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop” captivated her beyond its pink cover.

Eunice had, once upon a time, wanted to be a policewoman, inspired by the unravelling of many mysteries she vicariously lived through the eyes of Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators and the Famous Five. Now she spends her days deciphering scripts with cryptic handwriting that would make any doctor proud. When she needs a break from this gruelling sleuthing work, she immerses herself in fantastical worlds filled with magic or apocalyptic adventures with Eridian aliens. Back on planet earth, she indulges in the wonders of nature and the beauty of dance, even though she has two left feet.

Rosheena lives somewhere between lines of code, storylines of dramas, and the very real chaos of raising two teenaged daughters who think they are always right. By day, she is a teacher untangling logic and learning in equal measure; by night, she believes that good food, one more episode, and one more song are all perfectly reasonable decisions; until they are not.

After spending years trapped within the four walls of a laboratory working with bacteria and diagnostics, Pravin thought escaping into a corporate role at NUS High would finally grant him freedom. Unfortunately, he simply traded the four walls of a lab for the three walls of a cubicle. Refusing to remain seated for too long, he can now be found roaming around campus farming content, covering events, interviewing students, and appearing in random places with a camera like an NPC with multiple side quests.
