The Explore Track 2026

25 – 29 May 2026 | NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, Singapore

About the Explore Track

The Explore Track is a focused and dynamic event under the Singapore International Mathematical and Computational Challenge (SIMC 2.0). Designed specifically for local secondary school students, this track offers an intensive, hands-on introduction to Artificial Intelligence Robotics.

Participants will work in their school team to design AI-driven solutions for real-world problems in a supportive yet authentic environment, culminating in a final showcase on 29 May 2026.

Why Participate?

Accelerated AI Robotics Literacy: Gain a practical, foundational understanding of transformative AI technologies in an engaging, project-based setting.

Future-Ready Skills: Develop critical thinking, technical communication, and collaborative problem-solving abilities.

Key Details

The Explore Track is open to local schools only. Each participating school registers one team of three students, aged 13 to 15 years (Secondary 1 to Secondary 3).

The programme runs as a 4-day, non-residential intensive bootcamp at NUS High School from 25 to 28 May, followed by a final showcase on 29 May 2026.

Please note: There will be no session on 27 May, which is a public holiday. The bootcamp content has been designed and scheduled accordingly.

Participation is limited to the first 24 schools to register, ensuring personalised guidance and meaningful interaction.

We actively encourage participation from schools with students from diverse backgrounds, aiming to broaden access to advanced AI and computational education.

Theme: AI Robotics for a Smart Nation

Throughout the bootcamp, teams will progress through a structured problem-solving cycle:

  • Authentic Problem-Scoping — Identifying a relevant, real-world challenge
  • AI Concept Integration — Exploring how specific AI tools can empower a robotic solution
  • Project Development — Synthesising learning into a coherent project plan and poster
  • Ethical and Impact Reflection — Considering the societal implications of their proposed technology

Teams will explore core AI concepts such as computer vision, sensor integration, and autonomous decision-making through workshops, mentor-led sessions, and guided project development.

Programme (Tentative)

All times are Singapore Standard Time (UTC +8). The programme is subject to change.

25 May 2026 (Monday) — Opening Ceremony, Ice-breakers, AI Robotics for a Smart Nation Workshop (full day)

26 May 2026 (Tuesday) — AI Robotics for a Smart Nation Workshop, Educators’ Programme (full day)

27 May 2026 (Wednesday) — No programme (Public Holiday)

28 May 2026 (Thursday) — AI Robotics for a Smart Nation Workshop (full day)

29 May 2026 (Friday) — Robotics Showcase and Presentations, Closing and Award Ceremony, Farewell Dinner (full day)

The Final Showcase — 29 May 2026

Teams will present their projects to peers including local and overseas senior high student participants in the Endeavour Track. Projects will be reviewed by an expert panel, which may recognise outstanding work for its creativity, clarity of thought, and teamwork. The showcase is a celebration of learning, providing a platform for students to articulate their ideas and engage with the wider tech community.

Role of Educator

The participating educator is invited to the Educators’ Programme on 26 May 2026 and the showcase on 29 May 2026. The educator is not required to be on-site on other days but must be contactable in cases of emergencies.
